Menopause
What is menopause?
Menopause is the name for the phase that occurs in a woman’s life when menstrual periods stop permanently. This phase signals the end of the reproductive period.
Menopause affects women in different ways. Some women may not have any concerns at all, while others find this phase more challenging.
Common menopausal symptoms can include:
- Hot flushes
- Vaginal dryness
- Pain during sex
- Loss of libido
- Night sweats
- Tiredness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Anxiety, irritability and moodiness
- Osteoporosis
Our treatment options for menopause
While menopause itself doesn’t require treatment, you may need help managing the symptoms as you transition.
Hormone replacement therapy can help with severe hot flushes. But HRT isn’t just recommended for this but also for heart health protection and osteoporosis prevention. Hormonal or non-hormonal vaginal creams or pessaries can help to manage vaginal and urinary symptoms.
